I came down with appendicitis last week and had to have my appendix taken out. I am a 37-year old woman who has been feeling extreme emotional distress in my troubled relationship for the past few years. For a few weeks before I contracted appendicits, I had the distinct feeling that I was reaching some sort of breaking point. I haven't been able to find much information on this on the Internet, but I firmly believe my body was telling me that enough was enough and I need to make some changes in my life immediately. I have never had such a forceful message from my body before and I need to start listening to it. This is so interesting. I came down with appendicitis last week and had to have my appendix taken out. I have noticed the same and noted that appendicits comes in 3 age groups, and the cause of stress broadly differs. Younger children - unhappy homes, parental issues; adoloscents- stress of studies/exams; and, young adults- failure to meet their expectations in life. I have also observed that in Down's Syndrome, appendicitis is virtually unknown - just two cases in Pubmed, and none of my senior colleagues can recollect from their personal experiences. I have also noted that women with with goitres usually have unhappy marriages.
